Now that we’ve explained a bit about what Eventbrite is and how it works, some may be wondering: how legitimate or safe is a website where just about anyone can create an event and sell tickets for it? Below is some information about the legitimacy and safety standards of Eventbrite.com, which may put your mind at ease.
Is Eventbrite legit?
Eventbrite is indeed legit; they are the oldest and largest online self-serve ticket seller. People from over 185 countries have used Eventbrite to sell tickets to their events. Eventbrite is used to host an average of 2 million events every year, with over 4 million tickets processed per month.
Is Eventbrite safe?
Yes, Eventbrite is safe. They comply with PCI requirements and use industry-standard encryption, so it’s safe to use your credit card on Eventbrite. They also do not sell personal information to third parties, and make sure that all of their employees are knowledgeable about their privacy obligations.
Eventbrite is by-and-large not responsible for issuing refunds to event attendees in the event of a problem, but it may do so if an event host does not meet their obligations under the Eventbrite Organizer Refund Policy Requirements.
If you come across an event on Eventbrite that you believe violates the Eventbrite Community Guidelines, click Report This Event at the bottom of an event’s description page, and follow the instructions from there.
