How To Contact Instagram Customer Service
By Corbin HartwickUpdated on February 2, 2022
Instagram has an extensive help center that should be able to answer most questions and issues that you have with the website. In the event that it does not, however, you can report certain things directly to Instagram.
We’ll start off by providing quick steps for those more familiar with using Instagram. If you need more in-depth instructions with screenshots, scroll down to our “Contacting Instagram with feedback or technical issues (detailed instructions)” or “To report abuse or other serious issues to Instagram (detailed instructions)” sections.
To Contact Instagram Customer Service
To provide feedback or report technical issues, click the 3 vertical dots from you profile and tap Report a Problem. Choose Send Feedback or Report a Problem, type your message, and click the checkmark.
To report abuse, click Support at the bottom of your screen. Then tap Privacy and Safety Center. Click Report Something, choose the issue you want to report, click report it, and fill in the form.
Contacting Instagram with feedback or technical issues (detailed instructions)
Follow these steps to give feedback or report a technical problem to Instagram:
1. Launch the Instagram application on your mobile device and log in.
2. Tap the Profile icon in the bottom-right corner, and then tap the three white dots in the top-right corner.
3. Scroll down to the “Support” section, and tap Report a Problem.
4. When a new window pops up, tap either Send Feedback or Report a Problem. (We’ll deal with reporting spam or abuse in the next section of this tutorial).
5. Type in the details of your problem (or suggestion) to Instagram, and then tap the checkmark in the top-right corner.
To report abuse or other serious issues to Instagram (detailed instructions)
The best thing to do is contact Instagram from their website if you think someone is using Instagram:
- With an account they’ve hacked into and/or used to impersonate someone else
- To incite hate against other people or groups
- To publicly expose other people’s private information, or to threaten to do so
- To promote or broadcast ideas or intentions of suicide or self-harm
- To conduct unsolicited advertising or communication (i.e. “spam”)
- For the purposes of human trafficking or distributing child pornography
If you spot anyone on Instagram engaging in any of these types of activities, towards you or anyone else:
1. Go to www.instagram.com in your web browser.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Support.
3. In the left-hand menu, click Privacy and Safety Center, and then click Report Something.
4. Click on the type of issue that you wish to report, and then click on one of the questions that appears that most pertains to the problem that you want to solve. Then look for a link that says Report It or something similar and click on it.
5. Each type of report will have a different form that you will need to fill out. When you’re done, click Send.
Other ways to contact Instagram
Instagram email
Instagram can be emailed at support@instagram.com, but many who have done this have claimed that they have not received a response. It is usually a better option to follow the problem-reporting strategies that we detailed above.
Instagram phone number
If you want to talk to an Instagram customer service representative on the phone, they can be reached toll-free at 1-650-543-4800.
Again, though, some people have mentioned that this phone number simply goes to Facebook (Instagram’s owner), and they say that they don’t do over-the-phone support for Instagram.
Instagram on Facebook
You can send a direct message to Instagram on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/InstagramEnglish.
Instagram on Twitter
You can also send a tweet to Instagram on Twitter at https://twitter.com/instagram (handle: @instagram).
Those are a few different ways that you can get in touch with Instagram if you need help! We hope that you’re able to get your problems solved!
